About the Learning Support Assistant Role
Salary: £101 to £110 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm (term time only)
Location: Maidenhead
Start Date: 10th November and 17th November start dates, 5 days a week, Monday to Friday
As a Drama Graduate – Learning Support Assistant, you will play a hands-on role in supporting children throughout the school day, including sensory regulation, learning activities, and sometimes personal care. You will learn how to apply drama and creative techniques to help children regulate emotions, build confidence, and engage in learning.
You will be supported by trained therapists and SEN specialists, making this an excellent stepping stone toward careers such as:
1. Drama Therapy / Art Therapy
2. SEN Teaching
3. Speech and Language Therapy
4. Youth or Social Care
5. Psychology or Mental Health Support
Working with children with profound needs gives you direct exposure to therapeutic and communication strategies used in therapy-based careers.

What You’ll Be Doing
6. Use drama, role-play, movement, and creative activities to support communication and engagement.
7. Build relationships with pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
8. Support children with autism, speech and language needs, and sensory processing differences.
9. Create a nurturing, structured, playful environment where children feel safe to explore and express themselves.
10. Help children develop emotional regulation, confidence, and social interaction.
11. Support daily routines, including personal care when required (training provided).
What We’re Looking For
12. A Drama graduate (performance, acting, theatre studies, or related field).
13. A creative, confident communicator who enjoys interaction and imaginative play.
14. Someone patient, empathetic, and able to stay calm in challenging situations.
15. A proactive learner who wants to develop skills linked to SEN, therapy, or education.
16. An understanding of how creativity, performance, and play can support child development.
