Qualified Social Worker – Duty
Location: Merseyside
Pay rate: £45,428 to £47,464 per annum
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Assistant Team Manager to manage a team of Social Workers within the Duty Service. The Duty Service has 4 teams and operates on a 1 week in 4 on-duty schedule. The teams handle referrals from MASH and conduct assessments for children in need and those subject to section 47 enquiries. You will support the team manager in ensuring a swift response to safeguarding concerns, oversee performance and practice, and mentor newly qualified social workers. Your expertise will enable you to support complex cases and participate in strategy and child in need meetings. You will have a reduced caseload and will be supported with ongoing development and career progression opportunities. This role is part of our Duty & Assessment Team, dedicated to making a difference in children’s lives.
Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, and guided by social care values, you will support the delivery of person-centred, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge, you’ll make assessments and decisions about appropriate interventions. Your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills will help you establish and maintain relationships with service users and partner agencies to meet identified needs.

Perfect candidate will be:
* Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
* Experienced in working with children and families, including vulnerable groups
* Experienced in Court, Children in Need, and Child Protection work
* Supportive of child and family planning, pre-proceedings, and court processes
* Knowledgeable about factors impacting children, including abuse and neglect
* Proficient in conducting Child & Family Assessments with effective analysis, decision-making, planning, and review
* Skilled in direct work with children and families
* Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking
* Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and issues
* Dedicated to continuous improvement for better outcomes
* Excellent mediator and negotiator on behalf of service users
* Able to build meaningful relationships with children and families
* Committed to high-quality service provision
* Experienced in multi-disciplinary, interagency work
* Minimum 2 years qualified experience
