Centrica, Stockport, England, United Kingdom. Fixed Term Contract / secondment for 8/12 months with hybrid working (onsite at Stockport office and from home). The PH Jones team supports social housing across the UK by installing, upgrading and repairing heating and electrical systems, with a mission to make the UK’s social housing greener and more energy efficient. PH Jones are looking for an experienced Lead Payroll Specialist to join our team.

Responsibilities
* Full end to end payroll processing for weekly and monthly paid employees
* Produce earnings analysis on a weekly/monthly basis for approval
* Set up and process attachments of earnings orders in a timely manner
* Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and streamline operations during mobilisation
* Mitigate potential risks associated with payroll mobilisation, including data security and compliance
* Collaborate with stakeholders (HR, finance, IT) to ensure a smooth payroll mobilisation process
* Manage employee benefits deductions (share save and salary sacrifice)
* Update and balance PAYE reports and submit to HMRC on a monthly basis
* Deal with ad hoc queries (e.g., mortgage applications, references, government statistics)
Qualifications and Experience
* Proven experience in payroll and related legislation, tax and PAYE procedures
* Experience in payroll mobilisation and risk management
* End-to-end mobilisation and testing experience, including integration with time, HR, finance, and third-party systems
* Strong knowledge of test tools, methodologies, and best practices
* CIPP qualified, or equivalent (desirable)
* Strong analytical capabilities
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) with good IT skills and ability to learn new systems
* Excellent teamwork and ability to respond professionally to payroll enquiries
* Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; self-motivated with a problem-solving approach
* Ability to adapt to changing workloads and priorities; willingness to undertake varied payroll responsibilities
* Ability to prioritise tasks, work under pressure and maintain high attention to detail
* Proven experience as a Lead Payroll Specialist or in a similar role
* Strong understanding of payroll processes, preferably within SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll
* Knowledge of Navision/Miracle Pay software would be advantageous
