Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity at our Nescafé Beverage Manufacturing site in Dalston. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our Industrial Services team, based at our Nestlé Beverage factory in Dalston. Nestlé Dalston Factory in Cumbria is the European Centre for cappuccino and creamers producing a range of beverage products. These are produced through a highly automated PLC controlled process plant and automated filling and packing lines. It is continually developing and expanding leading brands such as Nescafé Frothy Coffee, Starbucks, Aero Hot Chocolate and Coffeemate. A day in the life of a Maintenance Engineer - Industrial Services Day to day oversight of the Industrial Services Department, Boiler house, Air Compressors, Effluent treatment plant, Refrigeration System systems, Hygienic Air handling, Cooling towers and General services on site. Support the management team with tools that provide information on energy and water consumption. Work proactively with the management and project teams to identify opportunities for improvement in plant performance, process, and procedures. Use NCE process to communicate environmental performance to the factory and establish energy, water and waste goal alignment through the factory operational review. Work with the factory management teams to identify training needs, develop and coaching of training plans for operators to ensure that Utilities objectives can be fully realised. Ensure compliance for all areas of responsibility, and efficient closure of audit gaps and NCMS actions Support project charter for GHG reduction and sustainability projects. Support Net Zero Carbon Emission Energy strategy and energy architecture of the factory aligned with business, category, brand, and factory priorities Manage technical work in the factory to ensure that the standards of GMP, Food Safety, Hygiene and Quality are maintained. Support group engineering in strategic development of energy and water initiatives for the market, SHE-PM. Day to day management of site corporate and statutory Environmental compliance and reporting. Together with the Industrial Services manager develop and optimise maintenance strategies for all equipment, extraordinary maintenance plans and budget creation. What will make you successful Ideally, you will join us with a solid background in Engineering. Ideally, this will have been gained in Industrial Services and it is desirable if this experience comes from an FMCG environment. Other desirable experiences: Experience of Boiler house, Air Compressors, Effluent treatment plant, Refrigeration System systems, Hygienic Air handling, Cooling towers and General services on site. Experience in Industrial services systems and efficiency measurement. Capital investment projects management in food industry. Determination of methods to minimize the likelihood of injuries or damages to people and/or equipment (SH&E). Factory operations (as required) working in conjunction with FI, GA pillar. Commitment to a strong work ethic, integrity, honesty, safety, compliance, and quality. Personal relations based on trust and mutual respect. This implies a sociable attitude towards others, combined with an ability to communicate openly and frankly. Experience of using both SAP and Globe to support maintenance planning activity.
