Role Overview
This role sits within the Rates & FX Delivery team and is part of TP ICAP Technology. It is a key role in our ability to provide valuable on-target implementations of business requirements to our global customer base. As Delivery Manager, you will own TP ICAPs delivery pipeline and manage/support teams of employees and vendors in their effort to deliver. You are expected to work closely with peers and team leads on dependency management and removal of impediments to optimise team efficiency and throughput.
An understanding of derivatives and trading platforms is a key requirement for the role.
Role Responsibilities
1. Drive planning, estimation and coordination of the team’s technical roadmap and its execution
2. Ensure that realistic delivery roadmaps are maintained and ensure regular and accurate communication to stakeholders
3. Identify, assess and manage risks to the success of the project
4. Implement, evaluate and continually improve the team’s product development workflow, artefacts and events
5. Manage change control and ensure that schedule-impacting or cost-impacting changes are surfaced to stakeholders and approved / signed off
6. Where appropriate / required, serve as Scrum Master in the delivery team
7. Where appropriate / required, perform line manager duties
8. Provide coordination between cross functional departments included but not limited to Technology
9. Adapt quickly to learn the processes, systems and products of TP ICAP
10. Ability to work with business SMEs as well as project and IT representatives
11. Facilitate workshops and working groups to elicit easily understandable outputs
12. Provide support during User Acceptance Testing
13. Work with business stakeholders (sponsors, business managers, broking staff and delivery teams) to deliver technology change
14. Capture and agree requirements, estimate resource effort / costs and document benefits to seek appropriate levels of approval
15. Support strategic business and change management objectives
16. Organise meetings, setting agendas and taking minutes as necessary
17. Manage ad-hoc tasks as required
Experience / Competences
Essential
18. Substantial experience (5+ years) working as an Agile Delivery Manager, Scrum Master, Delivery Manager or similar role in a financial services organisation
19. Strong understanding of agile and lean principles, with the ability to coach teams on the principles behind Agile and facilitate actual change in outlook and behaviour
20. Budget accountability for projects / programmes over £1m plus
21. Direct experience of managing remote teams, augmented teams and vendor teams across multiple time zones
22. Able to forecast team capacity considering vacations, planned sick leaves, availability, holidays, etc and makes it available for sprint/increment/release planning
23. Facilitates all estimation sessions to have the needed input for building realistic delivery schedules
24. Identifies dependencies with input from teams, communicate them in the appropriate format, and actively manages dependencies (internal or external) within teams to minimise waste
25. Ensures that requirements / backlog items are prioritised, and schedule is derived from business priorities, so the most value-adding features/epics/specs are scheduled first in the delivery pipeline
26. Good team player with positive attitude and excellent written and oral communication skills
