Role
The Senior Project Manager will be accountable for the management and delivery of several multi-million-pound projects as part of the TfW Infrastructure Programme across the Wales and Borders network. Projects will be focused on station and depot infrastructure.
This is a varied role where the successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of infrastructure projects as required. Driving innovation, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement throughout the programme lifecycle and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
Role Responsibilities
* Line management and development of Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and Project Support Officer.
* Influencing, motivating and manage project teams across the organisation, including working with support functions and Business Partners.
* Provide strategic oversight of project progress against key milestones and delivery dates by monitoring project trackers, proactively identifying and mitigating risks, coordinating cross-functional teams, and delivering timely updates to internal and external stakeholders to ensure all projects are delivered on schedule and fully meet their defined obligations.
* Plan and drive completion of all project deliverables including the business case, safety validation, regulatory requirements, project roadmap, budget, implementation, and handover into business as usual.
* Ensure that the projects are delivered within agreed parameters (scope/specification, safety, timescale, cost and quality). Represent the best interest of TfW in respect of the evaluation, development and planning for the impact of the Stations Improvement Programme upon TfW business.
* Ensure all design and delivery of projects meet operational requirements and is customer focussed.
Qualifications
* Demonstrable experience of successfully developing and delivering projects of significant value and complexity in a railway environment across stations, depot and rolling stock infrastructure projects.
* Hold a project management qualification e.g. APM or PRINCE2.
* Experience of NEC Suite of contracts of the entire project lifecycles, demonstrating an understanding of collaborative project management, proactive risk mitigation, and the ability to deliver projects efficiently.
* Experience in leading and developing a team to high performance.
* Knowledge of relevant railway, Health, Safety, Environmental and Equalities Act legislation.
