Assistant Tax and Partnership Accountant
for a
12-month fixed-term contract
based in
Central Bristol

How you'll make an impact
As
Assistant Tax and Partnership Accountant
, you'll play a key role supporting the firm's tax and partner accounting processes, working closely with the Tax and Partnership Accountant and CFO. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable accountant to step into a well-established, supportive environment and make an immediate impact.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting partnership tax compliance including reserves, analyses for computations, capital allowances and tax payment administration.
Preparing tax returns for review, including property income accounts and pension annual allowance calculations, and submitting once approved.
Supporting corporation tax compliance including provisions for financial statements, payments on account, and returns for review.
Preparing tax treaty forms as required and assisting with the annual PAYE Settlement Agreement.
Assisting with partner distributions, quarterly dividend calculations, capital account movements and partner communications.
Posting journals for tax payments and provisions; reconciling accounts to maintain ledger integrity.
Providing VAT support including monthly checks, quarterly returns, reconciliations and payments.
Providing payroll support including monthly review, control account reconciliations and variance analysis against budget.
Supporting the maintenance of financial controls, documentation, and liaison with auditors and tax advisers.

Requirements:
Working towards, or have completed, the CTA qualification.
Qualified accountant.
Experience in tax compliance for individuals, partnerships and companies.
An interest in and good knowledge across UK business tax, VAT, employment tax and personal tax.
Familiarity with standard personal and corporation tax packages.
The ability to clearly communicate in writing.
Good knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word.
Working knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards.
Exceptional double entry bookkeeping skills.
Immediate availability or short notice periods are highly desirable.
