Job Title: Senior Data Analyst
Salary: £35,200 - £45,700
Location: Cambridge, Hybrid (2 days per week working from the office are expected)
Contract: Permanent, Full Time (35 hours per week)
About the Role
You will provide data analysis and psychometric support for a variety of English language tests. You will be responsible for evaluating test data and designing and producing statistical reports on a demanding schedule that requires accuracy and attention to detail. You will also identify innovative solutions to enhance the processes and systems used in Assessment Measurement, designing, developing and testing new analysis and data processing routines for departmental use.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out statistical and data analysis to ensure our examinations provide valid and accurate results, including evaluating test performance, malpractice detection and examiner monitoring.
* Contribute to the post’s strong process improvement culture by developing and testing software to improve departmental efficiency and efficacy.
* Provide technical support for ad‑hoc data requests and assist in research activities such as long‑term educational development projects and the development of new analysis methods.
* Advise on appropriate and feasible analytics and inferences that can be made from them.
About You
With a degree that includes a strong quantitative component and analytical focus (or equivalent work experience), you will be skilled in managing and analysing large and complex data using computational statistical software and programming languages (e.g. R, Python, SAS). You will have experience designing and developing user‑friendly data applications and statistical reports, and be familiar with quantitative research methods and statistical analysis procedures, ideally in the field of educational assessment and/or language testing. You will demonstrate the ability to work under pressure, with strong prioritisation and time‑management skills, and communicate complex concepts clearly, writing reports for diverse stakeholders and providing credible recommendations across the organisation.
