Role Overview
We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Kier Places team based in Rainham. As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be supporting our team in managing the commercial aspects of assigned projects to maximise planned gross margin through placement and control of contracts and subcontracts.
Responsibilities
* Managing commercial resources to maximise planned gross margin and support the achievement of budgeted profitability
* Tendering, evaluating, and appointing subcontractors and placing orders for materials and plant within delegated authorities
* Identifying, evaluating, and negotiating variations to contracts with customers and suppliers
* Measuring and valuing work to support the invoicing of customers and payment to suppliers
* Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with customers, consultants, and the supply chain to support fulfilment of contractual obligations
Qualifications and Experience
* Clear communication skills with experience of working effectively with multidisciplinary teams, client teams, subcontractors, and the wider supply chain
* Relevant qualifications (Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying is desirable) and experience within a similar role
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
* Flexibility and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team whilst using own initiative
* Willingness to undertake training and development to progress in your career
