Female Waking Night Support Worker – Withington (M14) Location: Amherst Road, Withington, Manchester M14 ⏰ Hours: 21:45 – 07:45 (10-hour shifts) ️ Shifts Available: Mondays, Wednesdays, Sundays alternating Fridays & Saturdays About the Service Amherst Road is a warm, supportive female-only shared home for adults with long-term mental health needs. We support up to 8 tenants (currently 6 in the home plus 1 in the community). Our experienced and well-trained team works closely together to provide person-centred, trauma-informed care in a safe and nurturing environment. About the Role We are looking for a dedicated Female Waking Night Support Worker to join our team. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort and wellbeing of our tenants throughout the night. Key Responsibilities: • Provide emotional support and reassurance overnight • Administer and prompt medication where required (one early-morning medication call) • Respond appropriately to mental health crises, contacting relevant agencies when needed • Carry out night checks, complete documentation and maintain accurate records • Give and receive thorough handovers with day staff • Follow established nightly routines and tasks outlined in the Waking Night File ✔️ Requirements: • Medication trained • Confident lone worker • Strong safeguarding knowledge (essential) • Crisis management / de-escalation skills (desirable) • Compassionate, reliable and calm under pressure A full induction will be provided. You’ll also have continuous support from Out of Hours management and local on-call staff. A nearby sleep-in team member (at our sister service, Burkhart) is also available for additional assistance if required.
