Overview
The Institute of Biomedical Innovation (IBI) was launched in January 2026 as a new institute of the Department of Engineering, situated in West Cambridge, and reporting to the University of Cambridge Faculty Board. Open to academics, start-ups and industry partners, the IBI provides shared laboratories, expert technical staff and training to speed up the journey from laboratory ideas to real‑world healthcare solutions.
Responsibilities
* Act as the first point of contact for the Institute and manage day‑to‑day administration activities.
* Ensure efficient and effective operation of the IBI by overseeing administrative processes.
* Conduct financial management of the Institute and its SRF, ensuring compliance and clear communication both internally and externally.
* Provide user support, interface with users, track usage patterns and produce crucial data for budgeting and strategy planning.
Qualifications
* Hold a degree level (or level 6 vocational qualification) or equivalent practical experience.
* Have experience in a senior administrative role, including staff management.
* Possess excellent interpersonal, networking and communication skills.
* Be able to prioritise and organise your own workload efficiently.
Employment Details
Fixed‑term: The funds for this post are available until 31 December 2027 in the first instance.
