About The Role MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE: To assess and provide training (as appropriate) to meet Compass and AQA standards, enabling Compass staff or foster carers to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding to deliver the AQA Unit Award Scheme for the young people in their care. The role will also involve assuring work is correct and effectively handling the administration process for our internal quality assurance process in preparation of AQA reviews. This is a national role, and the location of the applicant is less important due to national coverage. Syston would be ideal, but it is not a requirement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES 1. Responsibility for the timely and effective assessment and delivery of AQA units. 2. To plan with various different services to ensure progress through the AQA and/or competency qualifications. 3. Provide guidance and support for our various services so they can support our young people to achieve positive outcomes for the children in our care KEY RELATIONSHIPS Adult Qualification Manager L&D Administration Team Leader Qualification Assessors/IQA/ Coordinators AQA Qualification Service Group Head of L&D Lead L&D Trainers Service Managers and Deputies Operational Managers and Social Workers Foster Carers KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Responsibility for the timely and effective assessment and delivery of AQA units. Assessing all units submitted by staff and providing feedback and guidance if the work does not meet the required standard. Writing new units when requested by staff members for specific circumstances. Adapting existing units as requested by staff to suit individual needs. Receiving AQA certificates, collating and posting them out to all Compass Homes, Compass Schools and Experiential Educations. Completing all AQA administration. Ensure feedback is provided in a timely manner Report on progress regularly to wider organisation To maintain assessor qualified status 2. To plan with various different services to ensure progress through the AQA and/or competency qualifications. Keeping everyone up to date with changes and updates. Keeping records of achievements and units passed by the young people in Compass’ Homes, Schools and Experiential Educators who support young people in foster care. Attend qualification team meetings Providing Teams whole home workshops as required Support and grow the AQA offer in both content and accessibility for all compass young people 3. Provide guidance and support for our various services so they can support our young people to achieve positive outcomes for the children in our care Liaising with all services and administrators in the management of the AQA Unit Awards. Providing AQA workshops to assist new and existing staff to deliver the units in their respective services In-house training may be required. Travel to be expected across the Compass locations Attend team meetings ORGANISATIONAL To undertake broadly similar duties commensurate with the level of the post as required by the line manager even where the tasks are not specifically outlined in the job description. To be an effective advocate for Compass, promoting a positive image to maintain our high standards and positive reputation. To work within the provisions of the Data Protection Act, observing strict confidentiality in relation to all aspects of work undertaken. The post holder will be expected to competently use electronic systems effectively. The post holder will be expected to undertake training and development deemed necessary for the pursuance of the post. The postholder will be expected to ensure compliance with all policies within the employee handbook. Ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures, throughout all work within the Company, keeping the manager informed of work in progress and inform the manager immediately of any child protection matter or serious complaint. The nature of the agency business means that tasks and responsibilities are sometimes unpredictable. Staff are therefore expected to work flexibly when the occasion arises. The post holder will be required to travel to national sites to perform their assessing and observational tasks and for meetings. IND03
