Job Description As a Mechanical Handling Engineer you will join Derby/ Warrington team to support our activities within the Nuclear sector. As a Mechanical Handling Engineer, you will support nuclear projects, focusing on the design and development of bespoke mechanical handling systems used for the retrieval, handling, and management of radioactive waste where human access is not possible. You will play a key role in supporting long-term, nationally significant nuclear programmes, working closely with mechanical, systems, safety, and multi-disciplinary engineering teams. Location: Derby or Warrington (Can work from either one site) On Site: 2 days Clearance: BPSS Experience Level: 5- 10 YOE Key Responsibilities: Design Mechanical handling equipment Design Plant systems and engineered equipment Pipework, vessels, supports and structural steelwork Equipment used for waste handling, processing or containment Concept design of waste retrieval and remote handling equipment Detailed mechanical design and production of manufacturing drawings Design for manufacture and assembly (DfMA) Support to fabrication, installation and commissioning activities Mechanical handling systems including lifting, positioning and manipulation All work is carried out under strict nuclear safety, quality and assurance requirements .
