We are delighted to be working in partnership and in collaboration with Hariley Solutions, aspecialist provider of staff in Shropshire, to recruit Senior Electrical /Controls Engineers on behalf of a leading engineering business with bases in Telford and in Daresbury near Warrington. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking company at the forefront of engineering and innovation.
Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering & Innovation, you will take ownership of the delivery of engineering activities within complex projects, ensuring successful outcomes for clients. This role will involve both technical leadership and people management, making it ideal for someone looking to combine hands-on engineering with project leadership.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the Functional Safety lifecycle within project delivery.
* Supervise, motivate and support teams of engineers (including external resources), ensuring deliverables meet client, legal and industry requirements.
* Mentor apprentices, graduates, and junior engineers, helping to develop future talent.
* Work closely with Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the highest quality, including risk and change management.
* Contribute to internal engineering standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Produce electrical and controls concept designs such as:
* Functional Design & Safety Requirements Specifications
* Single Line Diagrams, Network Topology, Device Layouts
* Cause & Effect Matrices and Safety Block Diagrams
* Deliver software design and configuration for systems such as PLC, HMI, SCADA, Robots, Drives, and BMS.
* Oversee Factory Acceptance Testing, Commissioning and Site Acceptance Testing.
* Take ownership of the Technical Construction File.
* Carry out other related engineering duties as required.
What We’re Looking For:
* Degree (BEng / BSc) or Level 6 Apprenticeship in Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
* Considerable experience in a similar engineering role, sufficient to demonstrate competence in all aspects of the role.
* Strong technical knowledge of electrical control systems.
* A team player who can also work independently with initiative.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proactive, confident and well-organised.
* Strong problem-solving ability with a hands-on, adaptable approach.
* Enthusiastic and reliable with a genuine passion for engineering.
