Job Title: Database Administrator (Oracle, SQL Server & Others) Location: London (2 days onsite, 3 remote) Contract Length: 12 Months Client: Global Banking Institution Rate: £460-£480 Inside IR35 Overview: Our banking client is seeking an experienced DBA to support an enterprise-scale data migration programme. The ideal candidate will bring multi-platform database administration expertise (Oracle, SQL Server, and other major platforms), with proven experience in data migration and a strong understanding of security and compliance controls in regulated environments. Key Responsibilities: Manage, maintain, and optimize multiple database platforms (primarily Oracle and SQL Server) Plan and execute large-scale data migrations across on-prem and cloud environments Apply security best practices and implement database-level access controls Collaborate with InfoSec and infrastructure teams to ensure regulatory compliance Monitor database performance, ensure high availability, and manage backup/recovery Provide input on architecture, capacity planning, and disaster recovery strategies Essential Skills & Experience: Strong DBA experience across Oracle, SQL Server, and ideally PostgreSQL or other platforms Hands-on experience with enterprise data migration projects Deep knowledge of database security principles, encryption, auditing, and access control Experience working in regulated industries, ideally financial services or banking Proficient in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Shell, Python) Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams Desirable: Exposure to cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or OCI) Experience with DevOps or Infrastructure-as-Code for DB deployment Familiarity with database monitoring tools (e.g., OEM, SolarWinds, Redgate)
