Job Title: Alternative Provision Teacher
Work type: Full time, 5 days per week, Permanent
Salary scale: Up to £40,000 per annum
Location: Northamptonshire
In this role you will:
* Define precise learning goals and outline how these will be delivered and measured.
* Design activities that stimulate curiosity and stretch learners' abilities.
* Establish ambitious yet achievable expectations for all students.
* Set clear, personalised targets that build on what pupils have already achieved.
* Recognise and plan for the needs of learners with AEN/SEN, those who are more able, looked-after children, and others with unique requirements.
* Structure lessons effectively to maintain momentum, engagement, and challenge throughout.
* Use assessment strategically to track progress and ensure the full curriculum is covered.
To be considered, suitable candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
* Learner Engagement - Skilled at motivating young people, helping them reach their goals, and bringing new, creative approaches both inside and outside the classroom.
* Emotional Awareness - Genuinely committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of students.
* Educational Background - A degree in a relevant subject area, with equivalent qualifications for SEN being a plus.
* Teaching Credentials - Hold, or be willing to work towards, QTS/QTLS. Additional specialist teaching qualifications are advantageous.
* Practical Experience - Previous experience in a school setting is required; direct work in secondary education would be particularly valuable.
* Subject Knowledge - Confident in English, Maths, and Science, with at least a grade 4/C or above in these areas.
* Specialist Understanding - Awareness of alternative provision and strategies for supporting learners with special educational needs.
