Leading civil engineering main contractor is seeking to employ an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor level candidate, with experience of working with the NEC contract, to join their commercial team. This role is following the award of a long term civil engineering framework which incorporates a wide spectrum of civil engineering projects on the East side of England. The team for this framework is based in London and York so there will be a need for a presence in these offices when needed. Key Responsibilities:Overseeing the financial and contractual performance of projectsEnsuring profit targets and efficiency savings are achievedAdministering change control and managing risks and opportunitiesConducting compliant procurement processes and managing supply chain relationshipsPreparing and negotiating claims, and managing subcontractor paymentsAttending project meetings and site visits to monitor progressMaintaining accurate financial logs, cost plans, and project forecastsPreparing monthly reports and attending cost review meetingsEnsuring compliance with contractual terms and governance processesBuilding and strengthening relationships with clients and commercial team membersUpskilling and supporting less experienced team membersJob Requirements:Proven success in a Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveying roleExperience of working with the NEC form of contractExperience of working on civil engineering projects within a contractor environmentAbility to work independently and manage conflicting prioritiesStrong relationship-building and communication skillsAnalytical mindset and creative problem-solving abilitiesResilience and flexibility in responding to changing prioritiesYou'll bring:Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)Experience in NEC contractsProfessional membership with RICS or CICES (desirable)Experience in a civil engineering environmentProficiency in cost management software and toolsUnderstanding of Lean principles (desirable)Benefits:Attractive starting salary Company Car scheme,All travel expenses paidPrivate Healthcare,Pension,Life Assurance cover25 days Annual Leave Enhanced Paternity & Maternity packageOpportunities for personal and professional developmentIf you are an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking for an exciting opportunity within the civil engineering sector, we would love to hear from you.
