Design Project Manager – Non‑Infrastructure Wastewater Projects
Permanent role supporting Severn Trent Water non‑infra wastewater projects across the Midlands. Reporting to the Head of Engineering and Design.
Responsibilities
* Identify design scope and deliverables.
* Review and challenge the design programme.
* Manage design deliverables and design change.
* Challenge design solutions to ensure DfMA and low‑carbon solutions that meet client affordability challenges.
* Hold and record regular design meetings covering briefing, progress and coordination.
* Hold and record buildability, carbon and DfMA workshops.
* Coordinate and manage design reviews, technical assurance reviews and CDM reviews.
* Implement and manage the project BIM strategy.
* Support the framework‑nominated principal designer.
* Ensure compliance with current legislation, especially health and safety regulations relevant to tasks.
* Promote the business professionally to external and internal stakeholders.
* Maintain professional working relationships and communicate well with Design, Delivery, Commercial and Employer teams.
* Liaise with other Project Team members to support procurement decision‑making for each package of work.
* Adhere to contractor governance in relation to design management and project delivery.
Requirements
* Experience working within the water sector, specifically non‑infra wastewater, in mechanical or civils disciplines in maintenance, design or capital delivery roles.
* Thorough understanding of design delivery, design procurement, design management, design control, and quality assurance.
* Proficiency in BIM to ISO 19650.
* Working knowledge of the NEC4 suite of contracts.
Benefits
* Salary range £65,000–85,000 depending on experience.
* 37.5‑hour working week – site/office 3 or 4 days a week.
