Overview
We are working with a leading medical technology business in their search for a Senior Design Engineer to join their Device Development team. This is a full-time opportunity to be directly involved in the design and development of cutting-edge medical devices that make a real difference to patients worldwide.
Responsibilities
* Producing high-quality CAD designs for injection moulded components and mechanisms
* Creating advanced surface models and design concepts using Creo
* Conducting tolerance analysis (TAN) and risk analysis (FMEA) for designs
* Supporting laboratory testing of prototypes and documenting results
* Writing and reviewing design specifications, protocols, and reports
* Collaborating with suppliers, engineers, and project managers to ensure design-for-manufacture
* Ensuring compliance with ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and relevant industry standards
* Supporting continuous improvement and mentoring junior team members where appropriate
About you
* Mechanical design/engineering background with extensive Creo experience (including surfacing)
* Strong background in injection moulded component design for high-volume manufacture
* Experience with prototyping, testing, and lab-based validation activities
* Skilled in producing documentation to support regulatory compliance
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to develop solutions from first principles
* Previous medical device experience is highly desirable but not essential
