Job summary
Norbury Ward is a busy adult acute inpatient mental health ward based at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport. We are currently seeking to recruit a band 5 staff nurse on a permanent contract to join our staffing team. You will be part of a dedicated ward committed to providing high-quality care to patients. We offer preceptorship packages for newly qualified nurses. Our shift pattern involves working two long days and two single shifts per week, providing three days off, with an expectation to rotate onto night shifts.
Main duties of the job
* Provide direct care to patients with various mental health issues.
* Act as the named nurse responsible for the overall care of an identified group of patients.
* Act as shift co-ordinator to ensure smooth ward operations and optimal resource utilization, with support from senior staff.
Key Responsibilities of the Post:
* Deliver high standards of safe and effective care.
* Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
* Adhere to Trust policies, procedures, and guidelines.
* Liaise with the multidisciplinary team.
* Mentor and support junior staff and students.
Note: All new starters requiring a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check will be recharged for the full cost; this amount will be deducted from the first salary.
