An experienced Interim Asset Management Lead is required to develop and own a robust five-year housing asset investment plan for a large housing portfolio. This senior role sits at the centre of asset strategy and capital delivery, translating stock condition, safety andpliance requirements into a prioritised, costed and deliverable programme.
You will provide professional leadership on housing asset management, ensuring investment decisions support resident safety, statutorypliance, service priorities and long-term value for money.
Your new role
1. Lead the development and ongoing review of a five-year housing asset investment plan
2. Translate stock condition,pliance and safety data into clear, evidence‑based investment priorities
3. Embed fire safety, building safety and statutorypliance at the core of asset planning
4. Own and oversee the housing stock condition survey programme and data quality
5. Model investment scenarios, risks and long-term liabilities
6. Work closely with housing,pliance, finance and capital delivery teams to agree a deliverable programme.
7. Develop plans to a level of detail suitable for handover to capital delivery teams, including scope, costs, phasing and dependencies.
8. Provide clear advice and reporting to senior leadership and elected members
9. Ensure alignment with budget availability, business planning and value‑for‑money principles
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an established housing asset management professional with a strong track record in strategic planning and programme development.
Essential experience and skills include:
10. Substantial experience in housing asset management within a local authority or registered provider
11. Proven delivery of medium‑term (3–5 year) asset investment plans
12. Strong understanding of stock condition assessment, lifecycle planning and planned maintenance
13. Sound knowledge of fire safety, building safety and statutorypliance in housing
14. Experience using asset data systems to inform investment decisions
15. Ability to develop plans ready for mobilisation by capital delivery teams
16. Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
17. Confidentmunicator, able to presentplex issues to non-technical audiences
Qualifications:
18. Degree or equivalent professional qualification in asset management, surveying, construction, housing or a related discipline
19. Evidence of relevant continuing professional development
