Overview
We are working with an established regional main contractor who have been operating across the South and M4 corridor for over 50 years. They have opened a new office near Newbury and are recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the established commercial team. They operate in the commercial, industrial, education and local authority sectors on schemes up to £30 million in the Dorset, Hampshire and West Sussex areas, working with local clients and a trusted local supply chain.
Responsibilities
* Work with preconstruction teams and directors at contract award stages on procurement and initial cost planning.
* Take onto site to manage packages and site financial matters such as payments, valuations, variation accounts,CVR, forecasting and planning of multiple projects.
* Look after multiple projects and junior members of the team, arranging workload within an agreed framework.
* Maintain autonomy to make decisions that suit the project and business, and help train and develop junior and trainee team members.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor role within a Tier 1 or 2 contractor or established main contractor environment.
* Ability to manage multiple projects locally on a range of schemes and to make a real difference and be valued for efforts and hard work.
* Track record in procurement, initial cost planning, payments, valuations, variations, CVR, forecasting and financial planning.
* Experience in working with local clients and supply chains and in a role that includes some management of junior staff.
