The role combines hands-on engineering with process improvement and innovation, helping the team deliver work more efficiently, reliably and cost-effectively.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
1. Design and build automation tools and applications to support the scalable delivery of core health analytics services
2. Develop and maintain reliable, production-grade technical infrastructure to support analytical and operational processes
3. Automate and improve workflows across data processing, analysis and reporting, increasing efficiency, consistency and quality
4. Support the deployment, monitoring and maintenance of applications, including solutions that make use of AI and LLM-based tools
5. Contribute to the design and development of reusable components, frameworks and templates to standardise delivery across projects
6. Implement testing, validation and monitoring processes to improve the robustness, accuracy and maintainability of pipelines and applications
7. Identify opportunities to improve data management, engineering processes and delivery approaches across the Health team
8. Support cloud-based architecture, particularly in Azure, including performance optimisation, resilience and scalability
9. Work closely with clinicians, analysts, statisticians, epidemiologists, health economists and other colleagues to turn complex analytical requirements into practical engineering solutions
10. Support the secure, reliable and appropriately governed use of automation and AI tools, particularly in contexts involving sensitive or high-assurance health data
11. Contribute to good engineering practice through documentation, code review, version control and continuous improvement of technical standards
