Responsibilities
* Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring full compliance with Ofsted regulations and the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015
* Lead, motivate, and develop the staff team to deliver safe, nurturing, and therapeutic care
* Act as a role model, promoting positive outcomes and independence for children and young people with EBD, trauma, and complex needs
* Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and incident reporting, ensuring high-quality record-keeping and adherence to safeguarding standards
* Participate in recruitment, induction, supervision, and staff appraisals
* Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence, ensuring smooth running of the home
* Support with inspections, audits, and quality assurance processes
* Maintain excellent relationships with local authorities, social workers, and other stakeholders
Requirements
* Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) essential
* Working towards or willing to complete Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management within 18 months essential
* Minimum 2 years experience working in a residential children's home (EBD/LD/MH) essential
* Previous experience in a Senior / Team Leader / Shift Leader role essential
* Strong knowledge of Ofsted requirements, Quality Standards, and safeguarding procedures
* Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
* Ability to manage rotas, staffing levels, and care plans effectively
* Full UK driving licence highly desirable
