The post holder will be an exceptional leader with in‑depth knowledge of maternity governance and assurance mechanisms and will lead on monitoring standards of a range of clinical governance, clinical effectiveness and patient safety activity, in liaison with other multidisciplinary professionals and speciality leads within the Maternity Team.

* Lead on monitoring standards of clinical governance, effectiveness, and patient safety for maternity services.
* Work collaboratively with the Director of Midwifery, Head of Midwifery, Consultant Midwife, maternity matron and other governance and education teams to provide seamless pathways of care.
* Ensure a positive safety and team culture across the maternity service.
* Enhance the quality and safety of maternity care, managing risk within the department and achieving consistency in practice.
* Support and contribute to the maternity department’s quality priorities – including CQC requirements, Saving Babies Lives Care Bundle V3, Maternity Incentive Scheme standards and the Maternity and Neonatal 3‑Year Delivery Plan.
The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident & emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. The Trust’s services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.
We are making urgent improvements to address infection prevention and control, working in partnership with local GPs, charities, community services, academic partners and the wider North West London Integrated Care System to ensure we listen to and work in partnership with our local population.
