A Manufacturing Engineer opportunity with a specialist business based in Leicester, producing advanced raw materials used in high-performance engineering applications. With continued investment in production capability and operational improvement, the company is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive efficiency, reduce waste and support scalable production growth. In return, the successful individual will receive a salary of circa £45,000, progression opportunities, bonus, early Friday finish and the chance to lead meaningful improvement projects across site operations.
Manufacturing Engineer responsibilities include -
* Leading continuous improvement initiatives to increase production efficiency, yield and process reliability. * Analysing manufacturing performance data and KPIs to identify inefficiencies, variation and cost reduction opportunities. * Implementing Lean manufacturing tools including 5S, standard work and structured problem-solving. * Leading root cause investigations into downtime, non-conformances and process deviations. * Improving workflow, workstation design and material flow to optimise productivity. * Supporting new product introduction and scale-up activities to maintain stable manufacturing processes.
Manufacturing Engineer desirable skills and experience -
* Proven experience within a manufacturing or production environment. * Strong understanding of continuous improvement and manufacturing process optimisation. * Experience applying Lean tools such as Six Sigma, 5S or Kaizen. * Experience working within ISO 9001 quality systems.
