Job Description - Assistant Accountant (hybrid)
Contract Type: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract (FTC)
Location: Liverpool (Head Office)
Reports to: Financial Controller
About the Role
This 12-month fixed-term role provides the opportunity to support the delivery of accurate and timely financial information. The Assistant Accountant will play a key part in weekly and monthly reporting cycles, maintaining financial controls, supporting forecasting activity, payroll, and ad-hoc analysis to enable effective business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce weekly financial data and performance reports
* Prepare month-end accounts including P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, VAT returns, and intercompany reporting
* Support maintenance of the rolling financial forecast
* Provide financial analysis and reporting for commercial and finance stakeholders
* Assist with data volume reporting and ad-hoc analytical tasks
* Contribute to monthly payroll processing
* Maintain strong financial controls and ensure accuracy of financial information
* Support process and system improvements across finance
* Undertake additional duties as required to support the wider team
