What we're looking for: The role will be onsite 5 days a week. We are seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to join the finance team. This role reports directly to the Financial Controller. This position will support in the day-to-day responsibilities of the finance department taking a leadership role with a proportion of the daily duties. The Assistant Financial Controller will have the confidence and skillset to implement standards and ensure the team’s ongoing compliance with the Company’s financial standard operating procedures. They will be familiar with the daily duties of a finance team and work independently following initial training and guidance. The ideal candidate has relevant qualifications or is working towards this and in addition has had exposure to finance and accountancy procedures. Whilst hotel or hospitality finance experience is a bonus, it is not necessarily a ‘’must have’’. Key responsibilities include: Daily revenue audit and banking reconciliation Bank reconciliation in the accounting system Processing invoices via Procure Wizard Supporting in credit controlling and chasing debtors for payments and maintaining up to date sales ledger. Support in the processing of payroll on a daily and monthly basis. Assist with the daily and weekly forecasting production. Assist with month end accounts production To run and provide reports as required using the relevant systems and support tools Confident in communicating and supporting hotel team members in finance queries on an ongoing ad-hoc basis Deputising in the absence of FC. Skills, attributes, and desired experience Actively uses initiative Confidence to challenge and investigate Able to spot opportunities and trends Thorough and detail orientated Previous experience in a supervisory capacity within a finance team A qualification in finance or working towards preferable but not required Confident using a finance system Finance experience within the hospitality industry preferable but not required Experience using Procure Wizard preferable but not required.
