Clinical Psychologist / Family Therapist - CAMHS Eating Disorders, NHS AfC: Band 7. North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT) Community Eating Disorder service offers the latest evidence based psychological interventions for children and young people with eating disorders, with no upper age limit and age 8 years and above. The service is multi-disciplinary and supports supervision, training and flexible working arrangements.
Job overview
We are looking for a psychological practitioner, clinical psychologist or family therapist, to support the team in delivering evidence based treatment to children and young people with eating disorders. You will work as part of a multi-professional team and be innovative in supporting this client group.
The service aims to provide NICE compliant psychological interventions to clients and their families, with a focus on life-span work and strong links to local inpatient units and research collaborations with UCL. The team emphasises supervision, training opportunities and a positive therapeutic relationship with service users.
Main duties of the job
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in providing excellent treatment and psychological support to children and young people with eating disorders and their carers. Experience in eating disorders is welcome but not essential as specialist training and support will be provided.
Work within a multi-disciplinary team to develop skills in comorbidity management (e.g., autism, depression, anxiety, personality disorders). The post holder should be able to deliver an autonomous service within professional guidelines and the Trust policies and procedures.
* Doctorate in Clinical Counselling Psychology or MSc in Family Therapy
* Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for service users’ psychological care within a multidisciplinary care plan
* Experience of assessing and treating service users using evidence based psychological interventions

Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period unless they are currently part way through a probationary period or a bank staff member.
Starting with NELFT
New starters join the Trust on the first Monday of every month and undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, including mandatory training and equipment allocation. Induction takes place at the head office in Rainham, Essex.
High-Cost Area Supplement
Payment of 15% of the basic salary (minimum £4,313; maximum £5,436) pro rata for part-time staff.

About the service
North East London NHS Foundation Trust Community Eating Disorder service offers the latest evidence based psychological interventions to clients and their families with an Eating Disorder. We provide specialist assessment and treatment across the life span from age 8 years with no upper age limit.
We have strong links with local specialist eating disorder inpatient units and are involved in research in collaboration with UCL. Clinicians are supported with supervision and training time and there are opportunities to develop supervision skills. The team is based in Barking with satellite clinics in Walthamstow and Havering. We prioritise protected time for supervision and training and a positive work environment.

Person specification & Experience
* Accredited professional qualification relevant to the job role
* Two years post-registered qualification experience
* Knowledge and skills in delivering high-quality psychological therapy
* Experience of delivering therapy for eating disorders and knowledge of evidence-based treatments
