We are looking for a Senior EC&I Engineer to work on a long term contract in Chorley. The role is working Monday to Thursday - 2 days' in the office, 2 days' from home. Rate is c£50-55 Ltd per hour (outside IR35, Umbrella or PAYE equivalent) Duties for the Senior EC&I Engineer: This role will suit a degree-qualified engineer with a strong background in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation design who enjoys taking ownership of engineering solutions from concept through to delivery, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety requirements and project objectives. Key Responsibilities Develop and deliver EC&I engineering solutions throughout the full project lifecycle. Produce and review engineering documentation including specifications, calculations, design reports and technical files. Support concept, scheme and detailed design activities, ensuring designs are safe, compliant and fit for purpose. Undertake design verification, validation and compliance activities in line with relevant legislation and industry standards. Participate in design reviews, hazard assessments and risk reduction activities. Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure integrated project delivery. Support manufacturing, installation, commissioning and testing activities, providing technical guidance where required. Contribute to bid preparation, technical proposals and project planning activities. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and value engineering. Provide technical support and mentoring to junior engineers where appropriate. Requirements for the Senior EC&I Engineer: Degree qualified in Electrical, Electronic, Control Systems, Instrumentation or a related engineering discipline. Chartered, Incorporated or working towards professional registration. Experience delivering EC&I design projects within a regulated engineering environment. Strong understanding of engineering standards, compliance requirements and safety legislation. Experience producing and reviewing technical documentation and engineering deliverables. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Desirable Experience within nuclear, defence, energy, process, utilities or other highly regulated industries. Knowledge of functional safety, UKCA/CE compliance and relevant industry standards.
