The Senior Contracts Manager will manage SP&S deals from a contracting and commercial perspective throughout the deal lifecycle, ensuring compliance with contract commitments and conducting commercial risk assessment at all phases.
Responsibilities
* Develop and negotiate detailed contractual agreements with customers, leading cross‑functional teams in contract negotiation and defining overall deal strategy.
* Support bid teams in proposal development, risk management (including deal risk and governance adherence), scope definition, pricing and incentives, customer communications, and issue resolution.
* Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of a project during the execution phase, including commercial arrangements, variation orders, contract negotiation, amendments, and adherence to contract requirements.
* Ensure compliance with project‑specific contractual administration requirements, establish and maintain the project variation control system, and manage the invoicing process.
* Provide advice and guidance to management, project managers, engineering, sourcing and other functions on project‑specific contractual matters.
* Identify and manage commercial risks across project scopes by controlling overall project risk and opportunity review and reporting processes.
* Negotiate in line with contract requirements, supporting the formulation and negotiation of project contractual claims and counterclaims.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Business or related field.
* Detailed knowledge of energy contracts, terms, conditions and negotiation techniques.
* Strong commercial leadership skills and the ability to work in a matrix environment and lead by influence.
* Understanding of key contractual and commercial risks and ability to lead project risk review processes and assessments.
* Negotiating skills to secure favorable outcomes and flexibility to negotiate alternative positions with customers (subject to approval).
* Strong commercial acumen and business understanding.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Effective team player.
* Willingness to travel.
* Permanent work permit in the UK.
