Business Support Officer
Join our client, the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (OPFCC), at Police HQ, Weston Road, ST18 0YY, Stafford.
We are looking for a dedicated and dynamic Business Support Officer for a temporary position of 12 months, 37 hours per week, at an hourly rate of £16.90.
Role Purpose
Provide comprehensive business support to ensure effective governance of the OPFCC. Manage strategic meetings, provide executive assistance to the leadership team, and maintain essential communication with internal and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
* Schedule and manage strategic meetings, set agendas, take accurate minutes, and maintain action logs.
* Support the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC) and the Senior Leadership Team with administrative needs.
* Serve as the first point of contact for customer inquiries, ensuring a professional and customer‑focused response.
* Maintain accurate records of correspondence, expenses, and interests to ensure transparency.
* Coordinate travel and accommodation arrangements, ensuring value for the organisation.
* Provide additional administrative support as required.
Essential Skills
* Excellent written and oral communication.
* Strong listening and minute‑taking skills.
* Proficiency in meeting and deadline management.
* Familiarity with standard office IT and software packages (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
Experience
* Proven experience in administrative roles, especially in meeting and documentation management.
* Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
* Collaborative team player with strong relationship‑building skills.
Qualifications
* Minimum Level 2 qualification in English Language and Information Technology.
* Experience in a public service environment is a plus.
