Senior Quantity Surveyor – UK – Wave Search

The Opportunity
Due to ongoing growth in UK capital delivery programmes we are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management across major (£10m+) civil and infrastructure projects. The role will oversee the full project lifecycle – from cost planning and procurement to contract administration and final account – ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards of governance, safety and value.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all commercial and quantity surveying aspects of civil, utility and energy projects.
* Prepare and maintain cost estimates, budgets and forecasts from concept to completion.
* Administer contracts, variations, claims and final accounts (NEC or JCT).
* Support procurement strategies and tender evaluations for complex multi‑package works.
* Provide accurate financial reporting, cost control and risk management.
* Liaise with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure project success.
* Identify and mitigate commercial and delivery risks.
* Mentor junior team members and promote best practices across commercial operations.
About You
* Degree‑qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction or Quantity Surveying.
* Minimum 8+ years’ experience managing high‑value infrastructure or energy projects (£10m+).
* Strong commercial acumen and experience with NEC or JCT contracts.
* Chartered (MRICS, CIOB, ICES) or working towards chartership.
* Excellent stakeholder communication, negotiation and analytical skills.
* Comfortable working across multiple sites and engaging with multidisciplinary teams.
* Based in the South East of England with flexibility for site travel.
