Are you an experienced stakeholder engagement professional with a passion for major infrastructure and nationally significant projects? We’re looking for a Senior Town Planning Engagement Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering engagement for a major development consent order (DCO) programme.
This is an opportunity to join a high‑profile programme at a critical stage helping to drive effective, inclusive and compliant engagement with communities, statutory bodies, local authorities, landowners, and a wide range of external stakeholders. You’ll be part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment where strong organisation, clarity of purpose and high‑quality engagement are essential.
You’ll be responsible for:
* Developing and delivering statutory‑compliant stakeholder and community engagement plans.
* Building trusted, long‑term relationships with statutory consultees, political stakeholders, local authorities, and interest groups.
* Work collaboratively with planning, legal, environmental, design, airspace, communications and consultation teams to align engagement with project requirements.
* Maintaining accurate records and contribute to statutory reporting, including consultation reports, SoCGs and PADSS.
* Supporting continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and embedding best practice.
* Supervising and mentor engagement managers, coordinators and other team members.
* Bringing structure, organisation and momentum to engagement activities - helping to drive clarity on key topics, outcomes and next steps.
* This role is suited to someone who is proactive, organised, and able to bring structure and direction to a complex programme.
* You will work closely with the Head of Consultation and Engagement to run effective meetings, prioritise work, and ensure the team is set up to deliver.
You’ll need to have:
* Proven experience in engagement across major infrastructure or environmental projects.
* Strong understanding of DCO processes and statutory consultation requirements.
* Effective communicator with the ability to manage sensitive stakeholder issues.
* Highly organised, with capability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines.
