About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Logistics Operations Manager to lead our Tanker Logistics team in Skelmersdale. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the cost-efficient collection and delivery of raw milk while maintaining exceptional service standards. You\'ll lead a high-performing team, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with all legal and safety standards.

Responsibilities
* Lead and develop a high-performing logistics team.
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
* Manage depot operations, including rota planning, staffing, and cost control.
* Deliver against KPIs and OGSM targets.
* Drive customer service excellence for both internal and external stakeholders.
* Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
* Ensure legal compliance for drivers and vehicles.
* Conduct performance reviews, training, and disciplinary procedures.
What We\'re Looking For
* Proven experience in senior-level transport operations.
* Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Knowledge of haulage legislation and employment law.
* ICT proficiency and data-driven decision-making skills.
Qualifications
Essential:
* Minimum 5 GCSEs (A-C or equivalent)
* O Licence CPC Certification
* IOSH Certification
Desired:
* Experience in milk and/or food logistics
* Familiarity with unionized environments (e.g., USDAW)
