Your role: Wigan council is looking for a talented and motivated individual to train to become a CIPFA qualified accountant. This will include invaluable work experience across a wide range of financial services including service management accountancy and corporate financial accountancy. This role will be part of a pathway towards full qualification and permanent employment as a qualified accountant upon completion of your CIPFA qualification and demonstration of the CIPFA skills and behaviours. You will complete your CIPFA modules along the way, as well as completing our pathway assessment criteria as you move through the grades. You will be pivotal in supporting a high performing Finance team that was named Public Finance Team of the year in 2024 About you: We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and dynamic individual with a desire to work in the public sector. You do not need past finance work experience just a passion for it and a willingness to learn. You will have a mentor to guide you through your journey to becoming a fully qualified accountant.
