Headteacher. This is a rare opportunity to lead a thriving and ambitious secondary school that is deeply committed to excellence, inclusivity, and the success of every learner. We are looking for a leader who will inspire our school community, build on our outstanding achievements to date, and guide the school confidently into its next phase of development.
Coedcae School is a popular, thriving institution, which serves a richly diverse community in an urban part of Llanelli, within the local authority area of Carmarthenshire. Our school finds itself in a privileged location: we are within a few miles of the M4, which allows for convenient commuting, travel and ease of access to the city of Cardiff with all its retail, leisure and hospitality opportunities, yet we benefit enormously from our proximity to both coast and countryside. Indeed, the Gower Peninsula is a stone’s throw from our school and the national parks of the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast are an easy drive away.

•Provide inspirational and strategic leadership for the entire school community
•Sustain and enhance the school’s outstanding standards
•Continue to raise aspirations and outcomes for all learners
•Champion high-quality teaching and professional learning

We are looking for a leader who:
•Has a proven track record of successful senior leadership in education
•Demonstrates a clear vision for excellence in teaching, learning, and wellbeing
•Can motivate and empower staff while fostering a culture of collaboration
•Is committed to ensuring every learner, irrespective of background and ability, can achieve their potential
•Understands the evolving Welsh educational landscape and curriculum reform
•Possesses the energy, empathy, and resilience required to lead a dynamic school
