Affinity Water has a fantastic opportunity available to join our Sampling Team as a Team Leader in Staines.
This a perfect opportunity to lead a small team of samplers in a UKAS accredited environment and develop your management, customer, and quality control skills further.
The Role:
You will be operating effectively as part of the wider sampling team, proactively liaising with the Sampling Manager and other Team Leaders to maximise operational efficiency and promote good team relationships.
What you’ll be doing:
* Effectively plan and manage collection of samples to monitor Water
Quality in accordance with procedures and to ISO17025 standard.
* Carry out sampling activities when required and role model correct procedures.
* Facilitate customer contact in relation to water quality enquiries
maintaining high standards of delivery and service in line with KPIs.
* Manage staff, ensuring that they are trained and working
consistently to all necessary technical, quality, and operational
procedures.
* Undertake audit activities and reporting as required.
* Manage team’s response to PCV contraventions.
* Contribute to technical reports and liaise with stakeholders.
* Deliver documented projects and procedural updates that will promote continuous
improvement of sampling centre delivery.
* Deputise for Sampling Manager for admin and operational tasks, as
necessary.
* Ensure that all health and safety obligations are met to promote an
environment of zero harm.
What you’ll need:
* A thorough and methodical approach to your work.
* Ability to lead and motivate a team of Samplers.
* Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
* Some project management experience.
* Focus on performance management.
* Excellent time management and organisation skills to balance competing obligations and deliver performance expectations.
* Willingness to show initiative and positive approach to work.
* Great interpersonal skills as you must communicate with various staff levels within the organisation.
* Confident and proficient with common IT packages and ability to quickly learn bespoke programs.
* Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
* Ability to participate in standby rota to answer customer and sampler queries.
* Full clean driving licence.

* Salary: £32,202 - £40,883 (Based on competency)

* Hours of work will be operational i.e. 08:00am – 16:00pm (Monday to Thursday), 08:00am-15.30pm (Friday), 30min lunch break.
