CAD Engineer required for my client who works within the automotive industry, based in Peterborough.
The company is looking for an engineer who can deliver cutting-edge designs and ground-breaking solutions to their project line.
The successful CAD engineer will be an engineering connection within departments at the company and have an extensive CAD background.
CAD Engineer Job Overview
* Oversee the complete design lifecycle, from idea through to prototyping and ensure adherence to timelines and budget constraints.
* A hands-on approach, prototyping, testing, and iterating in a physical form to refine and improve designs.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, manufacturing, and operations to integrate design concepts seamlessly.
* Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitors' products.
* Instil a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the team to explore new materials, technologies, and design methods.
* Establish and enforce design standards and guidelines to ensure the highest level of quality and consistency across all projects.
* Conduct regular design reviews to stay ahead of the trend and provide constructive feedback to ensure the team's growth and development.
* Effectively communicate design concepts and decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
CAD Engineer Job Requirements
* Degree in Automotive Design, Automotive Engineering or a related field.
* Proficient in 2D & 3D CAD design software, ideally Solidworks.
* Strong portfolio showcasing a range of successful design projects.
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
* Good level of written and verbal communication.
* Based within a commutable distance of Peterborough.
CAD Engineer Salary & Benefits
* Salary - £35,000 to £45,000 - dependent upon experience, skill and qualifications.
* Full time position - Monday to Friday.
