The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Controls Engineer with expertise in power electronics and embedded systems. The successful candidate will join a forward-thinking engineering team developing advanced technology solutions for global defence, aerospace, and marine applications. These include motor drives, inverters, converters, and high-performance power management systems.
This hands-on role involves working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team of hardware, mechanical, and systems engineers. The engineer will play a key part in delivering innovative, real-world solutions that enhance the effectiveness of naval and aerospace platforms across allied forces.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Serve as the embedded controls specialist within a small, focused team developing electrical power systems.
2. Design system architectures and collaborate with electronics and systems engineers to deliver robust solutions.
3. Develop and implement embedded software using DSPs and microcontrollers (primarily in C/C++).
4. Build prototypes, conduct thorough testing, and support verification and validation activities.
