Health Analytics - Health Economist (Associate Consultant)
Location - London or Winchester (minimum 40% in-office with Tuesday's as the team day)
In LCP launched our Heath Analytics practice, providing analytical and research services for companies and organisations across life sciences and healthcare. Our team brings together clinicians, statisticians, epidemiologists, health economists and health data scientists alongside our established actuarial, analytics and technology teams to deliver new solutions for the fundamental challenges in health.
Our team’s mission is to help move health systems from importers of illness to exporters of health and to support our clients to deliver value to patients. We have already developed a track record for leading approaches to real world evidence generation, market access strategy, health economic modelling and innovative reimbursement design.
Our team has grown quickly in response to the demand we are seeing for the innovative service offerings we have developed and are now looking for an Associate Consultant with a strong Health Economics background who can apply their knowledge to provide solutions to our clients’ problems. This is an exciting opportunity for you to lead projects that use cutting edge health data science and health economic approaches to solve some of the most challenging issues in healthcare.
What do we do?
LCP’s Health Analytics team works across the healthcare and life sciences markets, combining health expertise with innovative approaches from our work in other sectors to tackle leading health issues. Joining LCP’s Health Analytics team will provide you with opportunities to work on a range of projects based on your interests and skillset.
Examples of the types of projects we undertake for our clients include:
1. Estimating the cost effectiveness of interventions using traditional HTA methods but also more holistically from both patients and health systems perspectives
2. Design and simulation of reimbursement models including outcome-based agreements
3. Risk prediction and modelling
4. Forecasting disease burden, healthcare demand and cost
5. Analysing demand patterns of healthcare providers to improve care delivery
6. Innovative approaches to identifying and quantifying unmet need and inequalities
7. Real world evidence studies using electronic healthcare records, registries, biobanks and databases
As an Associate Consultant in LCP’s Health Analytics team you will be involved in a diverse range of projects, covering both client and non-client work. Your key responsibilities will be to design solutions to the complex problems our clients in the healthcare and life sciences industry face and present these solutions in an accessible manner.
What skills, qualities and experience are we looking for?
8. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Health Economics role, ideally in a consultancy environment
9. A 2:1 degree or better in a numerate or science subject, and a health-related Masters degree or PhD (Statistics, Public Health, Epidemiology, Data Science, Health Economics) is desirable
10. An excellent strong grounding in Health Economics with demonstrated experience in conceptualising and delivering a range of health economic analyses
11. Experience working on HTA submissions is desirable, as is experience undertaking statistical analyses (e.g., survival analysis, utility analysis) to support economic evaluation
12. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present and explain complex issues to others
13. Excellent Microsoft Office skills and be highly competent in the use of Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, programming in R or other software is desirable
14. Excellent organisational skills, with support from other team members, to ensure work assigned is completed efficiently and on time
15. Experience in business development activities, including proposal writing, is desirable
