Service Care Solutions is a respected charity delivering specialist support for young people impacted by substance misuse, emotional wellbeing, and risk‑taking behaviours. We work closely with schools, youth settings, safeguarding teams, and partner agencies to improve outcomes for vulnerable young people and families.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Young Person's Recovery Practitioner to support children and young people affected by drug and alcohol misuse, emotional wellbeing concerns, and associated risk‑taking behaviours. The successful candidate will deliver early intervention, prevention, and recovery‑focused support within schools, community settings and outreach environments. This role suits a practitioner with experience supporting young people and families in substance misuse, youth work, safeguarding or emotional wellbeing services.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of young people affected by substance misuse and related vulnerabilities
* Deliver age‑appropriate one‑to‑one interventions, key‑working sessions and group support
* Complete assessments, risk assessments and recovery/support plans
* Deliver early intervention and prevention work within schools and youth settings
* Support young people to build resilience, healthy boundaries and emotional wellbeing
* Provide harm reduction advice, guidance and education
* Collaborate with safeguarding teams, schools, youth offending services and partner agencies
* Assist young people and families to access education, wellbeing and support services
* Maintain accurate and timely case‑management records in line with safeguarding and GDPR procedures
Essential Requirements
* Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting young people within substance misuse, youth work or wellbeing services
* Experience delivering interventions and managing caseloads with vulnerable young people
* Strong understanding of safeguarding children and contextual safeguarding practices
* Experience completing assessments, support plans and case recording
* Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Good IT skills including use of case‑management systems
* NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, Youth Work or equivalent (or willingness to work towards)
* Enhanced Child & Adult DBS (within 12 months or registered on Update Service)
* Valid Right to Work documentation
* Full UK driving licence desirable for outreach requirements
