Town Planner - York (Hybrid/Flexible Working Available)
I'm currently working with a highly respected, independent planning and rural consultancy that is looking to appoint a talented Town Planner to join its growing team based in York. This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional who is keen to work on a diverse portfolio of rural, residential, and strategic development projects across the UK.
The Role
As a Town Planner, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality planning advice and managing projects from initial appraisal through to determination. You'll be working closely with a collaborative and multidisciplinary team, supporting clients that range from private landowners to developers and institutional clients.
Key responsibilities will include:
Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals
Undertaking site appraisals and planning research
Providing clear, commercially focused planning advice to clients
Managing projects and liaising with stakeholders, local authorities, and consultants
Supporting senior colleagues on complex and strategic planning projects
About You
I'm keen to speak with candidates who are:
MRTPI qualified (or working towards chartership)
Educated to degree level in Town Planning or a related discipline
Experienced in the UK planning system (private or public sector)
A strong communicator with excellent report-writing skills
Proactive, commercially aware, and able to manage multiple projects
