The Vacancy
The Alcohol & Drug Service (ADS) is a registered charity that has been transforming lives affected by drugs and alcohol misuse for over 40 years.
At Generis, we believe that great learning comes from great training experiences, with active engagement as a key. As a specialist training and development department within ADS, we deliver accredited and bespoke training packages to internal and external candidates. Our approach guides learners through a meaningful journey—where knowledge is shared, developed through independent thinking, dynamic resources, and impactful activities.
The Opportunity
It’s an exciting time to work in the training branch of the drug and alcohol field, with new career pathways emerging. Generis is seeking a motivated and passionate Trainer/Assessor to join our small, growing team on a part-time hybrid basis.
This is a unique opportunity for someone passionate about delivering great training, regardless of direct experience in substance misuse. If you have a background in training, education, or health and social care, and a desire to learn and upskill, we support your development. You will help train and inspire others in a rewarding field.
The role involves delivering face-to-face and online sessions, with travel to venues across Yorkshire and the East Riding region; travel expenses are reimbursed.
Ideal Candidate
* A Level 3 Award in Education & Training (formerly PTLLS) or equivalent
* A desire to develop as an assessor (training/support provided)
* A passion for supporting learners to develop ideas, opinions, and professional identities
Experience in substance misuse or health and social care is a bonus but not essential, as full training and support will be provided.
Development Support
Whether experienced or new, we will support your development through a comprehensive induction to grow your skills and confidence in delivering Generis packages.
What We Offer
* Being part of a learner-focused, vision-led training department
* Influencing the future of the substance misuse workforce
* Ongoing professional development and support
* A supportive team environment within a respected organisation
If you’re ready to advance your career and inspire the next generation in the drug and alcohol field, we look forward to hearing from you.
