Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Department: Injection Moulding

Reports to: Moulding Senior Specialist

About us:

Epson Telford Limited was established in 1987, we are on a 50-acre site and operate a 24/7 manufacturing site.

We are the only European manufacturing and distribution site for ink cartridges and textile inks. These products are shipped to an Epson warehouse in Germany where they are then distributed throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Quality and innovation are at the heart of everything we do, from our Cleanroom environment to our in-house machinery, design and technology improvements from which we use our own Epson 6-axis robots.

Salary:

£39,676 plus 17% shift allowance

Hours of work:

Standard days (throughout 6-month probation period) - Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pm and Friday 8.30am to 4.00pm

Two Rotational (successful completion of 6-month probation period) - Week 1, Monday to Thursday 6.00am to 2.00pm and Friday 6.00am to 1.00pm and Week 2, Monday to Thursday 2.00pm to 10.00pm and Friday 1.00pm to 8.00pm

Main job functions:

Help the Moulding department to achieve KPI targets, by ensuring all equipment is maintained and ready for production in a timely manner
Provide expert support and knowledge to Moulding engineers and technicians relating to the Engineering aspect of the Moulding process
Co-ordinate and manage all aspects of maintenance for the Moulding Machinery and Ancillary Equipment
Investigate, propose and apply continuous machine improvements, ensuring all pre and post data is captured, to verify the effects of any changes
Analysis of Quality DPM, customer complaints and machine performance, to ensure improvements are correctly focused
Mentoring of junior members of the team

Main duties and responsibilities:

To ensure the Health, Safety and welfare of ALL staff specifically within the department
Carrying out relevant Risk Assessment, and Safe Systems of Work where necessary
All accidents and near misses are to be reported and countermeasure implemented as required, within a suitable time frame
Working towards relevant standards and procedures, to ensure all process improvements have been formulated with quality of product in mind. Assist with any of the production teams Quality issues and propose process solutions to reduce the DAS levels
Ensure all documentation where necessary is updated to reflect any changes
Obtaining multiple quotes and vendors, to ensure quality of purchased items and cost of new components to try and reduce costs
To ensure all work is focused around the achievement of plans and ensuring optimum line performance, any delay is communicated to the relevant members, propose solutions to any line stoppages to ensure maximum up time
To ensure that continuous improvement is a focus on all improvement projects
Support achievement of Q2E projects across the production department as required
Ensure all improvement works are controlled from cradle to grave and all relevant members are kept informed as the project progresses
Utilization of the MUDA process to remove any unnecessary tasks
To ensure good two way communication between all members of the department
Help with any training requirements in order for the machine to be operated not only safely but also efficiently
Ensure all activities are carried out in line with the company's policies and procedures with special attention to turning off unused equipment, lights etc
All waste streams are correctly segregated
To investigate, propose and apply continuous process improvements and ideas
Promote and encourage companywide Activities (Suggestion Scheme, SGA's, 5S, TQC Activities)

Experience required - essential:

High level of knowledge of Injection Moulding Machine Maintenance and all ancillary equipment
Experience of Planned Preventative Maintenance scheduling and system
Experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Excellent communication skills

Experience required - desirable:

Experience in Blow Moulding machinery maintenance

Qualifications - essential:

HNC or NVQ4 in an Engineering discipline

Qualifications - desirable:

IOSH or NEBOSH Certificate
