Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team in a senior care environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assisted living, nursing home experience, and a passion for providing exceptional care to our residents. As the Deputy Manager, you will support the overall management of the care home, ensuring high standards of care are maintained while leading and supervising staff effectively.
Duties
* Assist in the daily management of the care home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in senior care.
* Supervise and lead a team of care staff, providing guidance and support to ensure quality care delivery.
* Develop and implement individualised care plans for residents, focusing on their specific needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care.
* Oversee medication administration and ensure accurate record-keeping in accordance with health regulations.
* Foster a positive environment that promotes resident dignity, independence, and well-being.
* Conduct regular assessments of resident needs and adjust care plans as necessary.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate services and support for residents.
* Participate in staff training and development initiatives to enhance team skills and knowledge in senior care practices.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a similar role within assisted living or nursing home settings.
* Strong understanding of senior care principles, including dementia and Alzheimer's care.
* Background in nursing is advantageous but not essential.
* Excellent leadership skills with prior supervising experience.
* Ability to develop effective care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and staff.
* A compassionate approach to caregiving with a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors.
