Qualifications & Experience
* Highly motivated, enthusiastic, approachable, promotes positive relationships and high expectations.
* Committed to pastoral care, managing student behaviour effectively and providing meaningful support to diverse and challenging learners.
* Degree or equivalent qualification; Maths and English at least Level 2.
* Core Teaching Qualifications: QTS/QTLS required; NPQSL and/or NPQH desirable; specialist subject qualification an advantage.
* Proven leadership as Head of SEN or similar role, with experience across the secondary age range.
* Proficiency in delivering a chosen subject area and supporting teaching staff with curriculum delivery.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, equality of opportunity and inclusion, especially in schools with many vulnerable children.
* Problem‑solving ability to identify challenges quickly and implement student‑focused solutions.
* Clear and persuasive communication in writing and verbally with stakeholders including students, parents, staff, and governors.
* Dedication to promoting equality, diversity, safeguarding, wellbeing and British values across the school community.
* Effective time management, balancing leadership duties, team coordination, student outcomes and community engagement.
* Demonstrated experience working closely with parents, community organisations and external stakeholders.
