Social worker - Children
Location: Telford & Wrekin Council, Children's Safeguarding & Family Support Team
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: 6-month contract, Hybrid mix of home and office
Salary: £28.55 per hour (Umbrella)
Service Care Solutions is working on behalf of Telford & Wrekin council and an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Children's Social Worker to join the Children's Safeguarding & Family Support Team. This is a 6-month agency contract offering competitive pay and the chance to make a meaningful impact supporting children and families across Telford.
The Role
* Manage a caseload of children subject to Child in Need, Child Protection and care proceedings
* Undertake assessments, planning and direct work with children and families
* Complete Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries
* Prepare reports for court and attend hearings where required
* Work in partnership with multi-agency professionals to safeguard and promote positive outcomes for children
* Ensure all practice is compliant with statutory guidance and safeguarding procedures
Requirements
* Qualified Social Worker (BA/MA Social Work, DipSW or equivalent)
* Registered with Social Work England
* Proven experience within Children's Safeguarding / Child Protection - minimum 3 years perm in a local authority
* Strong assessment, report writing and court work experience
* Ability to manage a varied caseload effectively
