We are currently looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor (Cost Recovery) to join our Customer Service Department on a permanent basis. This role is based at our head office and involves working closely with the Customer Service, Finance, and Commercial teams to ensure efficient cost recovery and recharges.
About the Role
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, your main responsibility will be managing and maintaining the recovery of Customer Service recharges across the business. You will work closely with the Commercial and Finance teams to recoup contra charges from subcontractors, maximizing cost recovery.
Key Responsibilities
* Take ownership of the Customer Service cost recovery process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
* Oversee and review the Customer Service Cost Recovery function to maintain financial accuracy.
* Work through a backdated log of notified Customer Service costs to ensure all recoverable charges are processed.
* Assist the Commercial team with ad hoc tasks to support business operations.
* Ensure reporting and control processes are efficient and align with business needs.
* Proactively suggest improvements within Customer Service and Commercial functions to enhance efficiency.
What You’ll Need
We seek a detail-oriented, proactive professional with strong organizational skills and a methodical approach to cost recovery. Experience working in a Customer Service or Commercial environment within housebuilding or main contracting is essential. You should have excellent organizational, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy. Attention to detail is crucial for maintaining precise financial records and ensuring effective cost recovery.
Experience with Evision software, Microsoft 365 Dynamics, or Clixifix is a plus.
