Senior Reliability Maintenance Engineering Technician

In every shift, you’ll lead a team to ensure everyone has the equipment they need and that it’s functioning properly. This involves monitoring processes to ensure compliance with regulations and policies, and carrying out preventative maintenance to maximize equipment uptime.
You’ll observe and analyze system performance, suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity, and implement these across an EU-wide operation. Additionally, you’ll monitor processes using tools like Scada, work closely with your line manager on administrative tasks, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
This role is based at one of our operational sites. You’ll work in shifts, which may include weekends and nights. As you gain experience, there are opportunities to progress into more senior roles within Amazon.
Key responsibilities
* Ensure safe use of equipment and supervise teams to follow proper procedures
* Monitor equipment performance through visual checks, condition-based monitoring, and preventative maintenance, scheduling additional servicing as needed
* Supervise technicians on shift, support their development, and serve as the first point of contact for Reliability Maintenance Engineers
* Resolve equipment issues to reduce downtime and support efficient package processing
* Contribute to system improvements and standardize processes across the EU network
A day in the life
During your shift, you’ll lead your team to ensure equipment availability and proper operation. You’ll monitor processes, ensure compliance, and perform preventative maintenance to maximize uptime.
You’ll observe system performance, suggest and implement improvements across the EU, monitor with tools like Scada, and collaborate with your line manager on administrative tasks. The role involves working at an operational site with shift patterns that may include weekends and nights. Gaining experience here can lead to more advanced roles within Amazon.
Basic qualifications
* Complete Engineering apprenticeship and/or NVQ Level 3 or higher in a relevant engineering field
* Experience in a technical leadership role
* Experience in electrical and mechanical disciplines
* Experience with automation or material handling equipment
* Proficiency in verbal and written English
Preferred qualifications
* Experience working across multiple contractors and sites
* Knowledge of PLC control systems and statutory compliance
* Experience using computerized maintenance management systems
* Degree in a technical or operational discipline (preferred)
